Wallpaper Collage

2006 - 2010 

My friend Helle new I was ripping up teabags for artwork and one day she rang out of the blue with excitement in her voice.  They had just torn down the wallpaper from their kitchen whilst renovating and discovered treasure.  What lay beneath the bubbly white wall, was layers of old wallpaper pasted over as styles and residents changed.  Deep red, paper thin, old handpainted wallpaper glimmered through a huge pile of  torn, ready to be taken to the dump rubbish!  I was in my element.  Excited at the prospect of a new idea, I then collected the wallpaper of many a friends houses and started a collection of materials to be used in future works.

                re-assembled to create a hanging piece where

                the individual slats can be flipped and moved

                to create a new piece when you feel the need.
