A love of the earth and the feeling of clay in my hands has led me to my technique of hand rolling coils and balls to create organic forms from tall tree like to boulder like shapes. All pieces are textured with bits and pieces from the earth and man made bits such as beads, seeds, coral, bark and anything that makes a good impression. They are then fired to 1100 degrees celsius before finishing with bitumen or in most cases I leave them in their original colour and let the light and shadows create moods within the piece.
